Civil Wedding in the ‘Herrenhaus Stockelsdorf’
There are stories that are just too good to be true. I usually don’t photograph short weddings at weekends. Kim and Carlos were the exception to the rule. Both met in Australia and fell in love (oh.. I would love to go to Australia again). As it always is, someday they had to go back again. Carlos to Columbia, Kim to Germany. Usually those long distance relationships don’t last very long, or just fail because of the distance. But Carlos and Kim didn’t bother and visited each other regually in Columbia and Germany. Love across Continents. I don’t want to imagine how much money that must have eaten up. After endless struggle with paperwork with the authorities (it’s not as easy for Columbians to travel as it is for us Europeans), both were able to marry. As a wedding photographer I couldn’t say no to a little photo reportage. And so after getting to know them and accompanying the ceremony, I would really have been angry with myself having denied the chance. They are such a beautiful couple. What are a few thousand kilometers and next time I am in Lübeck, they won’t be able to reject a coffee with me. Thank you, for letting me capture your wedding.
